Seaweed Farming Scotland
Seaweed Farming Scotland is an artisanal producer of exceptional quality rope-grown kelp in Argyll on the West coast of Scotland.
We practice sustainable, regenerative farming leaving our sites fallow for 4-8 months every year to promote and support biodiversity. It’s restorative for the local marine environment which is important to us.
We grow native Scottish kelps - Wakame, Kombu and Sugar Kelp - from organic wild seed collected at the farm where it thrives in its natural environment.
Our produce is a nutrient-dense superfood, highly alkaline, mineral rich, containing unique bioactive substances and plentiful iodine that support functional health and everyday wellbeing.
Kelp offers a concentrated taste of umami – the fifth dimension of taste alongside sweet, salty, bitter and sour. A small amount will elevate and optimise the taste of any dish it is added to.
