Isle of Mull Coffee are true to their pledge of a greener future moving to a new way of roasting in fluid bed, convection roasting ensuring an even roast. The air filtration system of our Typhoon 5 roaster collects the carbon, providing clean roasting in what is a dirty business. A quicker and more energy efficient electric system uses the energy from the previous roast to power the next. The addition of solar power leaves minimal footprint.
The criteria of being community focused is embedded in the IOMC culture. This embraces ethically sourcing green beans where profits are reinvested into the communities and there is quality assurance from picking to packaging. We work with the local island community on Mull to muck in and help out by sourcing local products and re-using materials to provide a sustainable business offering non seasonal employment.
